Accessing Archived information:
Accessing of Building Plan Archives: –
Due to the closure of the Civic Centre the process for requesting and obtaining of archived building plans have been adjusted as follows:-
- By calling in personally at the Metrolink Building at the Civic precinct in Braamfontein on weekdays between 09h00 and 11h00.
- Email requests can also be made to (KgolokoPatrickK@joburg.org.za ). If the plans are available, you will be notified by return email reply, but the plans will have to collected in person at the Metrolink Building.
NOTE:
- The city can only dispense plans that exist on our records/archives.
- Due to the volumes of requests, limited hours (2.5 hours) and the proximity of the archives to the Metrolink, the turnaround time to retrieve and dispense the requested plans might be more than two days.
Accessing of Planning Archives: –
- The central location for collection and delivery of documents must be done at Forum 1, Block B, Braampark Office Park, 33 Hoofd Street, Braamfontein.
- To access planning records/file, must make an email request to Planning Records and Archived Unit (email address GlenfordH@joburg.org.za and danielthu@joburg.org.za) and the turnaround time to access planning record/file is 3 days. When there is more than one volume, the file must be accessed at archives repository.
- To access SDP plans, the request must still made via email to the Planning Records and Archived Unit – once the plan has been retrieved it can be collected at Metrolink in Braamfontein.
